Being admitted into the SAS EOF program and becoming an EOF scholar opened the doors for the endless opportunities before me at Rutgers. When I started my collegiate journey at Rutgers, EOF was the first place I could call my home away from home. The counselors, resident mentors and countless faculty members greeted us with love, support, mentorship...you name it. The summer institute introduced me to my fellow first generation peers, many of which I call my best friends today. EOF was there with me on my journey every step of the way. Whether I had an amazing accomplishment or I had a challenging experience, I knew I could always depend on my EOF family to support me. There are countless times I can think of when my counselor made me feel special by telling me about new opportunities or helpful resources on campus. My counselor helped me figure out my plan after graduation in this difficult time. What college student wouldn't want that? I feel grateful and beyond blessed to call myself a Rutgers alumna. I couldn't have done it without this program. SAS EOF is and forever will be my family.
