Ms. Brooks has worked with the Rutgers University EOF program for over four decades. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Biology from Oberlin College and earning her Masters in Higher Education Administration, she worked as a reading consultant in NYC and then as a psychological counselor at Emerson College in Boston. After moving to New Jersey, Dean Brooks began as an EOF counselor at University College, then the Rutgers University liberal arts college dedicated to transfer and nontraditional students. She transitioned to Assistant Director and then University College EOF Director within three years of arriving at Rutgers. Her passion for students and the EOF spirit was bolstered by working within University College before it merged with the other liberal arts colleges in New Brunswick in 2007 to become part of the School of Arts and Sciences. Dean Brooks has been associated with the Mountainview Community program (MVC), which addresses the transition of former offenders into and through Rutgers since its inception in 2004.
