Ms. Pereira received her associate's degree from Middlesex Community College, then transferred to Douglass College to earn her bachelor’s degree in Sociology.  She continued her education with Rutgers University by earning her master’s in Library and Information Sciences from the School of Communication, Information and Library Studies (SCILS).  As a nontraditional student, Emily understands the difficulties of finding the balance between work, school and personal life challenges.  She is an advocate for life-long learning and attends many professional development opportunities to best serve her students.  She also served as an advisor at the Health Professions Office (HPO) for pre-health students.  Emily is a member of NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) and NAAHP (National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions).  She is excited to continue to serve the EOF population in her new role as Senior EOF Counselor on the College Avenue Campus.
