Mr. Simpson joins the SAS EOF Counseling team with prior experience working with Residence Life, Housing, Student Leadership, Financial Aid, and academic advising at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Florham, NJ. He was an Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) student at Drew University where he received his bachelor’s degree in History and Pan-African Studies. While at Drew, Mr. Simpson worked for the EOF program as Head Counselor during their summer bridge programs, and after graduating from Drew University, Mr. Simpson earned his master’s degree in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Rider University.
Mr. Simpson prides himself on being an advocate for college students and guiding them through their undergraduate experience. He is extremely excited to serve the Rutgers SAS community in his new role as Senior Counselor on the College Avenue Campus. Hamzah is a Rutgers and Middlesex College Alum, as well as an EOF Scholar. His college journey really shapes his student affairs background. At Middlesex College he was involved in the student government, Phi Theta Kappa Honors program and The Bonner Program centered around service and community engagement. Through the Bonner Program, Hamzah was able to mentor/tutor local students in the New Brunswick area through a partnership with the EMPOWER program. These experiences really set his foundation before transferring to Rutgers University-New Brunswick. At Rutgers Hamzah was involved with the women's basketball team as a practice player and manager, he was part of the new student orientation team and served as a transfer mentor for future transfer students. He was able to complete his bachelors majoring in Psychology and secured a certification in mentoring, and continued on to the Graduate School of Education and attained his masters centered in College Student Affairs. These different roles and experiences play a major part in transforming Hamzah into the person he is today. He is excited to be part of the EOF team and being able to serve the student body he was once a part of, and he looks forward to using his experiences to positively influence and impact the students he works with! Alexandra Vineque is a first-generation college graduate and a Rutgers Alumna who earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from University College-Newark before obtaining a Master's Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Her experiences in higher education began with work in the EOF Program as a Student Support Assistant and continues with experience working with Non-Traditional Students and Students where English was their Second Language in a Community College. She brings an expertise in the area of Information Technology including degree auditing systems, queuing systems, and other student servicing technologies. Alex is delighted to return to EOF and is eager to assist students on their higher education journey by providing academic advisement and support that improves their Rutgers experience.

Matthew Greene has spent most of his career in higher education within his passion for helping students and families seeking access and equity. Matthew has a Master's Degree in School Counseling and has worked as a counselor and academic advisor with students at many levels in education, from middle school all the way to graduate school. Most recently, his focus has been working with students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) Careers. He specializes in developing workshops to supplement the students' educational goals outside of the classroom. In addition, he enjoys working with student organizations and was an advisor for a STEM Student Scholars program as well as the Latin American Student Association. Matthew attained his B.A. from Rutgers University and is excited to be back at his alma mater to work with the students and families of the SAS EOF program.

Mr. Rodriguez earned his bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at Montclair State University while being a student worker at the Center for Student Involvement. He began his higher education career at Georgian Court University as an admissions counselor, serving as a liaison to the EOF program. Prior to joining Rutgers-School of Arts and Sciences, Miguel worked as an EOF Counselor at Caldwell University. He recently earned his MA in Higher Education with a concentration on Educational Leadership at (please insert the name of the institution). During this time, he was responsible for recruitment, caseload management, event planning, and assisted with financial aid matters. He also served as a student advocate on a presidential task force for racial equity. He is passionate about working with first-generation college students and believes that it is his responsibility to be a walking testament of hope to his students. Mr. Rodriguez is excited to continue to serve the EOF community in his role as Senior EOF Counselor on the College Avenue Campus.
