Miss. Portia Muehlbauer is a first-generation college alumna of LIU Global with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Global Studies with dual minors in Violent Extremism Studies and Political Science. As an undergraduate, she was actively involved in student life and founded the women’s political organization IGNITE @ LIU Brooklyn as well as the Lambda Tau Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha women’s fraternity. She is an avid traveller, having visited 34 countries, and has program coordination experience from two international organizations abroad. Miss. Muehlbauer is passionate about women’s and human rights, one of the organizations she worked with being Women without Borders, an international non-profit that leads capacity building programing for mothers and women in communities at high-risk for violence and extremist activity. She first got involved with Rutgers and residential life as a sorority house director on the College Avenue campus at Zeta Tau Alpha. In this role, she was responsible for the safety and well-being of over 150 chapter members, as well as maintaining an upbeat and welcoming home environment. Miss. Muehlbauer is looking forward to transitioning into her new role and is very excited to join the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences Educational Opportunity Fund family!
