Shamil Henriquez has a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from Seton Hall University. His passion for working in the field of higher education began during his undergrad as a Resident Assistant at SHU. Following his undergrad career as an RA, Mr. Henriquez worked as a Residence Coordinator for SHU’s Housing & Residence Life department, supervising Boland Hall, a Freshman building that houses 706 students at capacity, and then the complex area, a 3-building freshman and upperclassmen hybrid residence space. Shamil’s proudest professional accomplishments include working with the VP of Student Services at SHU to designate a Boland Hall classroom as an Interfaith room that everyone on campus could access. He also worked with Gourmet Dining Services, SHU’s exclusive food provider, to start serving halal food for the first time ever in the SHU dining hall and commuter food areas as of Fall 2019. As Program Coordinator for the SAS EOF department at Rutgers New Brunswick, Shamil hopes to create and implement academic and social programs for EOF students that help them develop into thriving students and young adults with the drive and skills to further their EOF and Rutgers NB communities.
